Situation Summary from InsideKyoto.com Last update: December 13, 2021 On November 29, Japan announced that, due to the Omicron variant, all foreigners visitors will be banned from entering Japan. This includes business people and students. Cases remain extremely low in Japan but a few cases of the new Omicron variant have been detected in the country. Vaccinations have been rolled out to almost anyone who wants one: 79% percent of the population has received at least one dose and 78% is fully vaccinated.
